Precautions for Using and Drilling the Water Hose of Mud Pump

Ⅰ. Precautions of using the water hose of the mud pump?

(1) Hose connection: when the hose is put on the hose coupling, it must be fastened with a hose hoop or iron wire to prevent air leakage and water leakage.

(2) Use of water hose of the mud pump: when the high-pressure water hose is used, the high-pressure water hose should be connected to a place close to the pump. The hose after filling should be prevented from twisting or bending suddenly, and the hose coupling of the mud pump should be prevented from being damaged by collision.

(3) Special water hose connection for mud pump: when laying water hose, avoid sharp objects. When laying water hose through traffic arteries, it is best to do the protective treatment. When there is a road, operators should dig to a proper depth and pass the section from below to avoid the intermittent water supply if the hose is crushed by the wheels.

(4) Maintenance of the water hose of the mud pump: after the hose is used, it should be cleaned and scrubbed carefully to protect the rubber layer. In order to remove the grease on the hose, it can be washed with warm water or soap. For the frozen hose, it should be melted first, and then cleaned and dried. The hose that has not been dried should not be rolled up and stored.

(5) Storage of water hose: hoses should not be placed outdoors in the sun and rain for a long time. Put it away from heat sources to prevent aging and avoid corrosive and viscous material pollution. The storage place should have suitable temperature and good ventilation. When not in use, the water hose of mud pump should be rolled up in a single layer, and should be turned over several times and folded several times each year. Friction should be avoided, and folding should be exchanged when necessary.

(6) Management of special water hoses for mud pumps: special personnel should be responsible for management to prevent unreasonable damage. All water hoses should be classified according to quality and numbered in order to master the use condition of water hoses.

Ⅱ. Precautions in the drilling process of mud pump

A mud pump is a machine that delivers flushing fluids such as mud or water to the drill hole during drilling. Mud pump is an important part of drilling machinery and equipment.

Its main function is to inject the mud into the well with the drill bit by the mud pump during the drilling process. It plays the role of cooling the drill bit, cleaning the drilling tool, fixing the well wall, driving the drilling, and bringing the cuttings back to the ground after drilling.

In the commonly used positive circulation drilling, the mud pump directly sends the clean water, mud or polymer flushing fluid of the surface flushing medium to the bottom end of the drill bit through the high-pressure hose, the water tap and the center hole of the drill column under a certain pressure, so as to achieve the purpose of cooling the drill bit, removing the cuttings and transporting them to the surface.

The commonly used mud pump is of piston type or plunger type. The crankshaft of the pump is driven by the power machine to rotate, and the crankshaft drives the piston or plunger to reciprocate in the pump cylinder through the crosshead. Under the alternate action of the suction and discharge valves, the purpose of pressurizing and circulating the flushing liquid is realized.

The mud pump is one of the pump products. The two main parameters in its performance are displacement and pressure. The displacement of the mud pump is calculated by the number of liters discharged per minute, which is related to the drilling diameter and the required up-hole velocity of flushing fluid from the bottom of the hole, that is, the larger the diameter, the larger the required displacement.

It is required that the up-hole velocity of the flushing fluid should be large enough to flush the cuttings and rock powder cut by the drill bit away from the bottom of the hole in time and carry them to the surface reliably. In the case of drilling geological cores, the general up-hole velocity is about 0.4 to 1 m/min.

The pressure of the mud pump depends on the depth of the drill hole, the resistance of the channel through which the flushing fluid passes, and the nature of the flushing fluid transported.

The deeper the drill hole, the greater the resistance of the channel and the higher the pressure required. With the change of the diameter and depth of the drill hole, the displacement of the pump is required to be adjusted at any time. There is a gearbox or a hydraulic motor in the pump mechanism to adjust its speed to achieve the purpose of changing the displacement of the mud pump.

Finally, in order to accurately grasp the changes of the pressure and displacement of the pump, a flow meter and a pressure gauge can be installed on the mud pump, so that the drillers can understand the operation of the mud pump at any time. At the same time, it can judge whether the condition in the hole is normal through the pressure change to prevent the occurrence of an internal accident in the hole.
