Working principle of LZ73 Down-hole Motor

With drilling fluid as the driving force, the mud pumped out by the mud pump flows through the bypass valve into the motor, forming a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the motor, pushing the rotor to rotate around the stator axis, and then transmitting the speed and torque to the drill bit through the universal shaft and the transmission shaft to achieve drilling operations.

Structural composition of LZ73 Down-hole Motor

Bypass valve: During the process of drilling, the drilling fluid is allowed to pass through to avoid excessive pressure in the drill tool; when drilling, the bypass valve is closed to allow all the drilling fluid to enter the motor.

Motor Assembly: It consists of a rotor and a stator, and is the core component of the downhole motor. The liquid pressure energy is converted into mechanical energy through the rotation of the rotor in the stator.

Universal joint: It connects the motor assembly and the transmission shaft, can transmit torque and speed, and allows the drill tool to bend within a certain range to adapt to the trajectory changes of the wellbore.

Bearing: It is used to support the transmission shaft, withstand the radial and axial forces generated by the drill tool during drilling, and ensure the stable rotation of the transmission shaft.

Drive shaft: transmits the torque and speed transmitted by the universal joint to the drill bit, driving the drill bit to rotate and break the rock.
