1. Functions: The discharge pulsation dampener absorbs and releases energy through the compression and expansion of internal gas, effectively buffering the pulsation of mud pressure, making the output mud pressure more stable, thereby reducing the impact of pressure fluctuations on pipelines, reducing the probability of pipeline rupture, leakage and other faults, and protecting mud pumps and other equipment. At the same time, stable pressure helps the mud pump to suction and discharge mud more evenly, reduce pump cavitation, and improve the pump's volumetric and mechanical efficiency.

2. Working principles: In the first half of the discharge process of the mud pump, the discharge pulsation dampener stores a portion of the excess liquid from the average displacement of the liquid cylinder. At this time, the discharge pulsation dampener is compressed and the gas volume is reduced; In the second half, the discharge pulsation dampener discharges some of the originally stored liquid to supplement the insufficient liquid from the liquid cylinder. The discharge pulsation dampener expands and the gas volume increases, thereby maintaining a relatively uniform pressure and displacement of the liquid in the discharge pipeline.

3. Material and specifications: The shell material of the discharge pulsation dampener is generally cast steel or alloy steel, such as 35CrMo, 40CrMnMo, etc. Common models include KB45, KB75, etc. The F500/F800 mud pump usually uses the KB45 discharge pulsation dampener, while the F1000/F1300/F1600 uses the KB75 discharge pulsation dampener.

4. Use and maintenance: The inflation pressure of the discharge pulsation dampener is generally 30% of the design pump pressure, usually 4-6 MPa, and the best is 4.5 MPa. When the mud pump is working normally, the discharge pulsation dampener shut-off valve should be closed to protect the pressure gauge. In addition, when disassembling and assembling the discharge pulsation dampener, the pressure must be released firstly to avoid danger.
