1. Working principle: Before operation, the rated pressure should be determined based on the specifications of the mud pump cylinder liner and piston, and the corresponding shear pin should be inserted into the designated hole of the shear pin plate. When working, high-pressure mud acts on the piston assembly to generate thrust, which is transmitted to the shear pin through the piston rod. When the pressure inside the pump exceeds the rated value, the shear stress on the shear pin exceeds its own strength limit and will be cut off. Then, the mud is quickly discharged from the safety valve side hole or discharge connecting pipe.

2. Core function: The primary function of the shear pin safety valve is overpressure protection, which avoids damage to the pump body, high-pressure manifold, drilling tools, etc. due to excessive pressure, while ensuring the personal safety of drilling personnel. In addition, it also has the characteristic of convenient pressure regulation. By replacing shear pins of different diameters or adjusting their installation positions, it can adapt to the pressure requirements of different working conditions, and the operation is simple, the pressure relief response is rapid, and it is suitable for high-pressure and stable drilling operation scenarios.

3. Maintenance and reset: It is necessary to release the button on a weekly basis and reset the reset handle when the system is under no pressure; Inject new lubricating grease into the grease nipple every 6 months and replace the sealing components; Clean the valve cover grease and replace damaged parts every 12 months.

When resetting the shear pin safety valve, it is necessary to first turn off the mud pump, open the protective cap to press down the valve body, reset the safety arm, insert the safety pin corresponding to the pressure value, and cover the protective cap; Regularly check whether the valve body is corroded and apply lubricating grease in a timely manner to avoid component jamming and safety valve failure.
