Structural composition of LZ80 Down-hole Motor

Bypass valve: It is composed of valve body, valve sleeve, valve core and spring. During the drilling operation, the bypass valve is in the bypass state, allowing the mud in the drill string to bypass the motor and enter the annulus; when the mud flow and pressure reach the standard setting value, the valve core moves down and closes the bypass valve hole. At this time, the mud flows through the motor and converts the pressure energy into mechanical energy.

Motor assembly: It is the core component of the drilling tool and consists of a stator and a rotor. The stator is made of a rubber bushing injected on the inner wall of the steel pipe, and its inner hole is a spiral with certain geometric parameters; the rotor is a screw with a hard layer. The rotor and the stator mesh with each other, and the lead difference between the two is used to form a spiral sealing chamber to complete the energy conversion.

Universal shaft: It is mostly a flexure shaft type, and its function is to convert the planetary motion of the motor into the fixed axis rotation of the transmission shaft, and transmit the torque and speed generated by the motor to the transmission shaft to the drill bit.

Drive shaft: Its function is to transmit the motor's rotational power to the drill bit, while bearing the axial and radial loads generated by the drilling pressure.

Features of LZ80 Down-hole Motor

High directional accuracy: Down-hole motor can better control the wellbore trajectory, suitable for drilling special well types such as directional wells and horizontal wells, and can accurately change the wellbore direction according to the design requirements to improve the efficiency of oil and gas production.

Stable torque output: It can provide a relatively stable torque during the drilling process, which is conducive to the drill bit to efficiently break rocks, reduce the drill bit's bounce and vibration, and improve the drill bit's service life and drilling quality.

Adapt to a variety of formations: It has good adaptability to formations with different hardness and characteristics, and can play a good drilling performance regardless of soft or hard formations.

Precautions for use of LZ80 Down-hole Motor

Drilling fluid requirements: Control the sand content in the mud below 1% to prevent accelerated wear of bearings and motor stators, and select the appropriate input flow range according to the drill tool model.

Startup process: Slowly open the pump to avoid impact, and wait for the pressure to stabilize before pressurized drilling.

Troubleshooting: A sudden increase in pressure may indicate a stuck motor or a damaged drill bit.
