Choke manifold parts are the necessity to control techniques of the well kick and the pressure implement for oil and gas wells. The choke valve plays the role in keeping a certain casing pressure of the well bottom marginally greater than that of the formation in the case of an off blowout preventer to curb the inflow of the formation fluid. In addition, the choke manifold parts can be used to achieve the soft shut-in by blowing off to protect the wellhead, where the pressure goes to a certain limit.
Choke manifold parts consist of the choke valve, the gate valve, pipelines, pipe fittings and the pressure gauge, etc.. For more details, please refer to the picture above, the gate valve section and the choke valve section.
High pressure inside the well can be controlled by the choke valve (with three types being the manual adjustable, the hydraulic and the fixed) on the choke manifold. The fluid in the well can be released to regulate and even be directly blown off to relieve the casing pressure.
For the choke circulation or the well killing, the choke valve holds the flow of fluid inside to control the wellhead backpressure (the oil pressure and the casing pressure) and to maintain the bottom pressure equal to or slightly greater than that of the formation. For the pressure relief, it degrades the wellhead pressure and achieves a "soft shut-in". For diversion and blow-off, it reduces the surface casing pressure, protects the blowout preventer and diverts the overflow away from the well site, so as to have a safety ensured downhole operation free from fire and poison.
