Mud pump is a kind of pump commodity. The two basic parameters of its characteristics are displacement and pressure. Displacement is measured by multiple liters per minute of discharge. It is related to the diameter of the borehole and the specified rate of flushing fluid from the bottom of the hole, that is, the larger the diameter, the greater the required displacement.

2.2 The pressure size of the mud pump lies in the density of the borehole, the friction resistance of the safe passage through which the flushing fluid passes, and the characteristics of the flushing fluid transported. The longer the borehole, the greater the frictional resistance of the pipeline and the higher the necessary pressure. With the change of borehole diameter and depth, the prescribed pump displacement can also be adjusted in many ways anytime and anywhere. Set up a transmission in the pump organization or adjust its speed with an oil motor to achieve the purpose of changing the displacement.
2.3 In order to better grasp the change of pump pressure and displacement, a steam flow meter and pressure gauge can be installed on the types of mud pumps so that the drilling staff can grasp the operation status of the pump anytime and anywhere. In addition, according to the pressure change, distinguish whether the hole wall condition is normal to prevent the hole wall safety accident.
