What is a Mud Gate Valve? What Does It Do?

1. What is the mud gate valve?

Mud gate valve is a rigid gate valve, elevating valve rod and elastic sealing gate valve. The valve is mainly used for mud, cement, fracturing and water supply services, and is easy to operate and maintain.

Mud gate valves can be used in chemical, petrochemical, petroleum, paper, mining, electric power, liquefied gas, food, pharmaceutical, water supply and drainage, municipal administration, machinery and equipment, electronics industry, urban construction and other fields.

2. What is the role of the mud gate valve?

Mud gate valve has two types of non-metallic seal and metal seal. It is an equipment mainly used for drilling mud circulation system in petroleum mines to control mud circulation and closing. The connection form is trapezoidal thread or flange type. Installation is quick and convenient. It has strong rigidity, and is safe and reliable. Besides, the valve seat and gate board have good sealing effect and are easy to open.

High-pressure mud gate valves are often used in wellheads and Christmas trees in oil and gas fields. Compared with other types of valves, this valve has a higher overall appearance, larger installation space, longer opening and closing times and higher production costs.

The mud gate valve is a new product developed based on the APISpec6A standard based on improving the shortcomings of the high-pressure single gate and flat gate valve. Compared with similar high-pressure single gate and flat gate valves, the overall height of the mud gate valve is reduced by about 1/3, the opening and closing time is shortened by about 1/2, and the production cost is greatly reduced.
